Finnlandhaus Becken
An open or shut case?
Concentration or communication are sometimes conflicting themes which are difficult to reconcile within an existing floor plan. A office must provide the environment for all aspects of interaction or quiet work. Is it possible to have the both in one space ?
The offices for Dieter Becken, a renowned property developer both worlds were brought together. Open offices convert themselves closed offices with sliding doors allowing individual offices to open up to a circulation space. The combination of communication or concentration has been achieved with this flexible structure which can be closed off for individual work when required without having to leave an individual desk to re-locate to a quiet room. The original design of the building is around a central core which we clad in black glass to reflect the 360 degree city views from the building. This feature re-inforces the premier location and opens up exciting views from any position.
