ACCENTURE ESSEN

Tradition meets innovation

Accenture’s new Industry X.0 Innovation Center resides in an 1950s brick building over three floors, covering a total area of 1500 square meters. The industrial red-brick architecture is part of the former area of the ‘Zeche Zollverein’ in Essen, once world’s largest coal mining district in the middle of Germany. When the building was refurbished, a great deal of attention was paid to its original look and structure. A light hand was used in the refurbishment The historical aspects of the location was an inspiration to design a superb Innovation Center which combined digital work processes within a post-industrial landscape. Accenture’s ultimate goal is to help their clients drive digital innovation forward by presenting new business strategies, ways of working using technological innovation. In order to support the company in its missions the space had to be a functional yet creative outlet.
