ALLEN & OVERY

Loft living and working

One of the world leading legal consultants moved within Hamburg from the river Elbe to the Alster lake. The building, a beautiful 120 year old office is representative of a building typology typical to the city at the turn of the century. Large ornate steel framed windows and finely detailed stone façade display an elegant background to a panoramic view of the lake, The office was at the top of the building and was essentially a loft space never used previously. The idea of a loft was, for a lawyers, office quite unique and more representative of an apartment and not of an office building. The use of fabrics and soft furnishings reinforces the idea of home office combined with large communication areas allows flexibility in workplace provision giving teams the options to decide which spaces offer the best qualities for the relevant tasks.

A flexible and cozy atmosphere in a unique workspace.
