Fish and chips, hamburger and pea soup – what you get on the menu, you can be seen in the design. On your plate you will find an artfully prepared, yet simple meal. In the restaurant you will sit on basic wooden chairs and tables – as you can find them in every kitchen. The atmosphere is unique: sitting on precious oriental carpets, looking at maritime treasures and observing the industrial panorama of the harbour. The restaurant is a mixture of traditional warehouse elements and modern industrial design. Many of the interior components and used materials are influenced by the nearby container port. Yellow floor graphics guide you through the space. You can even sit on your own oriental carpet pile looking out through the large windows screened by industrial storage shelves. The space evokes the emotion of a transitory existence: the seafarer life with all its belongings. So after a long journey, you can finally arrive home, in German meaning ’Heimat’.
